July, 2011 Archives

Stephanie and Roger were referred to us by one of our past couples Jane and Kyle whose wedding film you will see in the next couple of weeks by the way… Anyway…. Any friend of Jane and Kyle’s is a friend of ours so we were so excited to be a part of documenting Stephanie and Rogers wedding day. Plus we saw Roger put his dancing shoes on at Jane and Kyle’s wedding and after we saw how this cat could move we had to be a part of their wedding!! Stephanie and Roger are an e-harmony success story and I am telling you these days EVERYONE meets online. If you are a working professional and you are over the bar scene this is how you meet your mate. I am fascinated by the dude who came up with e-harmony and what his formula is because what he does is down right amazing. We have been a part of sooooo many weddings now where the couple met on e-harmony and the couples are perfectly suited for one another. Stephanie and Roger are no exception… Downright perfect for one another!! Besides being a wonderful couple and getting married at one of the COOLEST buildings I have ever seen The Disney Concert Hall they did something that I thought was ADORABLE at their reception. You know the whole tap on your glass with a fork and the newlyweds will kiss thing? Well Stephanie and Roger did their own version of this age old tradition but they did it with pizazz and flair! Check this out…. When people tapped on their glasses with their forks the DJ would call up a couple (a list of couples was given to the DJ before hand) and that couple would have to kiss in a fun and creative way. After they kissed Stephanie and Roger would have to duplicate that kiss. By the middle of the evening the kisses the couple were doing were crazy elaborate. One couple choreographed some sort of tango and it involved the girl jumping into the husbands arms and her spinning him around. It was wild!! And Stephanie and Roger had to duplicate. It was fantastic and one of the MOST ORIGINAL things I have seen done at a wedding in a long time. Stephanie and Roger are on to something here and I thing this trend is so cute that it is going to be coming to another reception near you. Congratulations Stephanie and Roger. May your love for one another set the trend for the marriages of those around you!! Thank you for allowing Serendipity to document your day!! PS. We shot this whole wedding on DSLR’s and we are stoked about it.

On July 12th Serendipity Videography had the pleasure of shooting the MLB All Star Fan Fest Wedding. Dolly and Joe, two flight attendants from Texas were the lucky recipients of this dream wedding that was built around the thing they love to do together the most, go to baseball games! The MLB All Star Fan Fest Wedding was a HUGE deal. It got media attention from far and wide. There were thousands of people on site watching Dolly and Joe exchange their vows. Then after Dolly and Joe said “I Do” they were surrounded by reporters wanting to get interviews with them about their experience for TV, Radio, Newspaper and Blogs. But Dolly and Joe took it all in stride and handled it like pro’s. We even got calls the next day of people saying they saw Jeff shooting the wedding and what a crazy gum chewer he is. Apparently all of the shots were of him snapping away feverishly on his gum. Take a gander at this Wedding Movie Trailer shot Documentary Style re-capping the events of Dolly and Joe’s spectacular wedding celebration at the MLB Fan Fest!

All of this couldn’t have come together if it weren’t for the generous donation of these true wedding professionals:

Over a year ago Alexis and Max won the wedding of their dreams at the Sedona Bridal Show that was sponsored by The Wedding Chronicle. Finally their day arrived this past February and they had a lavish and luxurious wedding with services and products donated by the AMAZING wedding professionals in Sedona. The value of this wedding totaled over $40,000!!! I think Alexis and Max were in shock and couldn’t believe their luck. They truly hit the jackpot!! But they took this dream day all in stride as they basked in the fabulousness of it. While they didn’t get to get married outside because of the insane snow/rain that day these two didn’t mind. They did get to photograph in front of the snow blanketed red rocks of Sedona which was incredibly beautiful. Our team had a blast shooting with Katrina and Andrew of Sedona Bride Photography as Alexis and Max danced in the snow and celebrated what was sure to be one of the most amazing days of their life. Thank you to all of the wedding professionals who participated and donated their services to Alexis and Max!!

San Diego California in July. There is no better place to be during the summer. 8o degree temperatures, the beach and a wedding to shoot in La Jolla. Ummmm yes please!! So when Jess called a few short weeks before her wedding to come to beautiful La Jolla to shoot her wedding we were half way out the door before the phone call was even over! The day of Jess and Dave’s wedding was nothing short of perfection. It was blue skies and sunshine with a light breeze. They were having their wedding at La Jolla Contemporary Museum which is on a cliff overlooking the Pacific. These two were so calm and laid back. Nothing could ruffle these love birds feathers. They just kept looking at each other and smiling and laughing almost in disbelief that this day had arrived. They had some really unique details to their wedding like Jess’s dress… It was made of all organic materials and earth friendly products like hemp which I thought was very eco chic. Dave’s Best Man also performed the Ceremony which was so personal and meaningful. I loved how each detail of their wedding was so personal to who Jess and Dave are as a couple. But before I give away too much take a gander at their Wedding Movie Trailer.

It was such a pleasure working Jess and Dave’s wedding with these Wedding Pro’s in San Diego.
