For the 6th year in a row Serendipity Cinematography has been nominated for a “Best Of” award with Arizona Bride Magazine!! This year we were nominated for “Best Videographer”. If we win this will be our 4th win of that title. We are grateful for the votes from our couples and vendors. We are honored and hope to be taking home this prestigious award. I’ll keep you posted.
This week Sarah my right hand woman and I got to spend the week at the Posh 2013 Retreat. Posh is an educational group for women filmmakers. I got introduced to this incredible group of women about a year and a half ago. Last year’s retreat was in Cancun and this year it was right here in Scottsdale at The Hotel Valley Ho. To say that this retreat is a game changer is an understatement. Attending Posh is seriously life changing and business changing. You walk away feeling totally inspired, empowered as women business owners and completely motivated to take your business to the next level. Surprisingly the wedding cinematography industry is dominated by men which is kind of weird because it is weddings after all… But anyway when you get together as an industry you feel this underlying competition and that people keep their cards close to their chest so as not to give away their secrets. At Posh it is all about the sharing of ideas and information. It’s about supporting one another and growing our businesses. You can ask anyone ANYTHING and they will help you and guide you. There are women who are beginners and women who are seasoned in the industry and it is awesome because it is all about building each other up and raising the bar of the industry in a positive and motivational manner. It’s kum-buy-ya and I love it. Sarah and I got awesome ideas and sat for 2 hours one day at lunch mapping out the direction of Serendipity for 2013. We returned to the office on Wednesday ready to jump in and implement the new ideas. I am so grateful for this group of incredibly talented and amazing women. They have single handedly changed the way I do business and helped me create the Serendipity experience that our couples love. I can’t wait for next year’s Posh Retreat!!!

Moving on and moving up. Check out these little beauties…. This is how all of our couples will now be getting their finished films. These are USB thumb drives. These are a HUGE step up from DVD’s. The files are true HD and our couples can load the files onto their smart phones, iPad, computers, websites, blog or Facebook. They can also build and burn their own DVD’s now and make as many copies as they want! Out with the old and in with the new!! Bye bye DVD’s!!
Serendipity has been in business for 6 years now and one of our goals as business owners has always been to push ourselves to the limit both creatively and professionally. We are constantly evolving our product to make our films better with each passing wedding season. Six years ago we were making “wedding videos” hence the name Serendipity Videography…. But as the years have gone on our films have evolved. We realized that we are no longer videographers making wedding videos. With the introduction of the DSLR our videos have evolved into films so we decided a name change was in order to better reflect that we truly are filmakers. We would like to introduce you to Serendipity Cinematography…
