Ilana and Jeremy are high school sweethearts who have stood the test of time. They have been together for 14 years but they have done the long distance thing a few times while each of them was pursuing their degrees and careers. Their wedding was the culmination of a long journey that led them to finally be together in the same city to live their lives together. Surrounded by their closest friends and family they came back to their roots in Tucson to take their vows. I give you the story of Ilana and Jeremy.

Everything In Texas Is Just Bigger

And I found that to be the truth… When I met with Dallas and Blake I loved them instantly. Dallas is from Dallas and she is all things Texas. I just wanted to squeeze her she was just so darn cute. Dallas and Blake were coming to AZ to get married to avoid having the 650 person wedding they would have had if they had done it in their home town. So they got married at Troon North and paired it down to 150 people. Now when I say that everything in Texas is just bigger… Case and point…. Dallas’s florals. Lots and lots of florals and it was lovely.

All American Date Night

Hey all – Sarah here! I don’t know what it is, but I always wanted to play baseball when I was a kid. I remember going to my older brother’s baseball games and just wishing I could play. I never had any friends who wanted to throw the ball around, and despite the fact that I have two older brothers, we never seemed to have a ball or a bat hanging around the house – that meant that any games me and my younger siblings would play in our neighbors yard (they had the perfect shaped yard on the corner, and an old tree stump that made an impeccable home base) we improvised, using a red rubber kickball and a big picture book as the bat. Ahhh, the good ole’ days…

By the time I got to high school and had the option to actively pursue it on my own, I had already labeled myself as “non-athletic” (after a few bad bouts on a basketball team I still try to block out…), so I got involved in other things.

When we first decided to go to the bating cage, I couldn’t believe how cheap they were! Most are only about $1.00 for 20 pitches (and that includes a bat and a helmet)!! I told Jeff that I thought that 20 pitches was a lot and that I probably wouldn’t want any more than that, so we grabbed $1 for each of us, and $1 extra (just in case), and got set on our way.

The hardest part was not feeling silly with all of the kids there practicing their pitches at around 50+ MPH. Jeff and I found an empty softball pitching cage at the end and started putting in our tokens. Jeff estimated that he hit about 50% of the balls pitched to him. However, ever since then my husband can’t stop bragging about his wife who only missed one of the 30 balls thrown. Granted, some I only just barely hit off the top of the bat, and they flew up behind me, but even so – You never know until you try!!

On the way out of the parking lot “our song” came on the radio, so my oh-so-sweet husband pulled over and asked for a dance! So sweet. We got home and continued our theme by watching “A League of Their Own” which Jeff had never seen. Honestly, he was a bit resistant, but I wore him down in the end. If I had thought about it beforehand, we would have had Ballpark Franks for dinner, and apple pie when we got home.

So there you go!! Batting Cages for Date night was super fun, super cheap, and an all around great time!!!… Although I would recommend wearing close-toed shoes for the rest of you.
